Project: Migrate from multiples Windows NT 4.0 Domains and Novell Netware NDS trees to Windows 2003 Active Directory.

 

Working as Project Manager and Systems Engineer for Avanade Spain, my job included:

• Design the pilot of the migration, including the evaluation of migration tools; build a lab with a replica of the complete environment (Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Microsoft Windows XP clients, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Novell Netware 5.0 servers).

• Develop of scripts and applications to help in the migration.

• Write the documentation for Novell NetWare to Microsoft Windows 2003 migration and Microsoft Windows NT/2000 to Microsoft Windows 2003 migration.

• Designing, installing and configuring the Active Directory (sites, replication, group policies, OUs, etc).

• Active Directory migration (and merge) of several Novell NDS trees and more 25 Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003 domains with more than 2,100 users and 1,500 workstations in more than 20 sites.

• Centralize multiple file servers (Microsoft Windows / Novell Netware) into a NetApp filer.

• Build Microsoft Windows 2003 clusters for DHCP and printer server, and migrate multiples DHCP and print servers to the cluster, etc.

• Mentoring junior systems engineer and provide resolution to escalated incidents.

• Present project status information to management.
